Nice to talk to you again. I think it’s great that you take the time to read my weblog.
A small update from what I’ve been doing lately. I feel a lot better to be honest. I can smile again and feel happy. I still got a bit of a cold, but I’m sure that that will also pass.
This week, I resumed my classes (I skipped them last week). In the Irish History classes I got bored out of my mind. This week the lecture was about sports and the start of the GAA. Not really my favourite subject, I’m not a sportsperson. I also started taking a new subject, or exactly we will start today since they couldn’t find a room last Tuesday. Irish language, music and dance. Sounds like a great subject! The two Irish students that are teaching also want to learn some things from the ERASMUS students.
After we will have this class at 4pm, an Irish party will start at about 7.30pm. this we I can practice the things we learned immediately!
Today I also met for the first time with my student mentor, Catherine Doherty. This should have happened in one of the first few weeks, but better late than never, right?
After that short meeting, I had my second visit to the Student Counsellor, John Foster. We are about to start digging in my past. So watch out, ghosts!
Two days ago I brought my laptop with me to school. This so I could activate my Norton account. It was quite a mess to make this happen. The system didn’t accept me, so I just went to the network operator. He had to really do his best to figure out how he could make the system accept me. Finally it worked! Now I can hear you ask: don’t they have any computers at school? Why go through this much trouble? To activate my Norton account, otherwise it would stop working and then I would have thrown away money. And I think it easier to work this way. I like to work on my own computer.
Yeah, internet works again back home! An unsecure connection that goes on and off, but better than nothing at all. I downloaded some Greek songs for the Greek girls, because they want to throw a Greek Evening. Sounds like fun! Other people also organize theme parties, I am really forward to these.
Talking about theme parties, Halloween is coming up shortly and I don’t have a costume yet. It has to be cheap and scary. Any suggestions? I already know what people might write: just buy a white sheet and pull it over your head. A ghost! Haha, I also came up with that idea. Come on people, something original, please.
I am planning a trip through the Republic of Ireland for a couple of days. A few people already want to join me on my quest. They have chosen a date for this. The beginning of December. I don’t really agree with this yet, but I am sure we can make a compromise or something.
This was it for this time! See you next time!
